At Transparency Analytics, I served as a full-stack developer on a SaaS product. Day to day, this means developing both the front-end and back-end from UI design and implementation to the server architecture and API development.
My role centred on utilizing PostgreSQL, Node.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript for a significant body of front and back end web and tool development.
Working within a small team in a contract capacity has meant broad ownership across the product lifecycle, from feature development through to production.
Before joining Transparency Analytics, I ran my own small web development services, taking on clients independently whilst I studied at Victoria University for my Cert IV in Information technology.
It involved handling everything from initial builds through to ongoing maintenance and support of existing sites.
My work spanned front-end design, WordPress development, JavaScript and CSS, and a meaningful amount of server maintenance and systems administration. Clients ultimately retained ownership of their infrastructure post-handoff, with support available as needed.
Notable work included designing a CRM for a hair salon from scratch using Node.JS, Javascript, and MongoDB/NoSQL.
A brief but useful stint at bone.digital, a web design firm, where I got hands-on with React, WordPress, and JavaScript in a real production context for my work experience.
Foundational stuff but it was where I was introduced to a lot of now very familiar concepts and I got my taste for the industry.
Prior to this role I had began programming at the age of 12 doing hobbyist projects, refining my skills during my education.
